Hello there,
I am getting better at this abc lark. I sent an incorrect version of
Tiviot Bridge from the Calvert Collection- so here it again as well all
the other tunes I have managed to transcribe.
In my last email I mentioned double stops. Well, actually if I had looked
more carefully, I would have noticed that some are not playable on the
fiddle! Many of the tunes look like piano music as some of the tunes below
with chords will show.
I should have read the Instructions for players. There are Instructions
for performers on Violoncello, Violin or German flute and the Harsichord
or Paino Forte
"For the performer on the Violin or German flute Where the notes are
chorded, you will obferve to play the uppermoft Notes."
It should have been obvious that this collection is aimed at keyboard
players as much as violinists (not fiddlers). However the grace notes seem
very playable on the fiddle or flute.
Before I pay up for Abc2win - there do seem to be some errors when dealing
with chords - the direction of the "stick" as well as the tendency to give
the wrong note length when playing a three note chord.
I suppose it is an old version. When I register I suppose I'll get a new
version with these things fixed. Does anyone have any preferences for abc
software for Windows 98?
Any takers for helping me get this collection into abc format?
Bye
Philip W
