The only thing I can add about The Livingstones is that Kenny McKay went
on to become a lawyer in Dundee and played for a while in The Taysiders,
along with Jim Reid. John Dempsey played in another band around Glasgow
in the mid 70's, but their name escapes me.

With regard to the other obscure groups you mention: Finn McCuill were
from Edinburgh. One of the members was Nick Keir, later to find fame and
fortune with the McCalmans. They provided the music for at least two 7:84
productions.

Iolair were Norman Stewart and Janice Clark, who later resurfaced with
Highland Connection. Her sister Jenny recorded an album (Stand Easy) with
the Battlefield Band.

If you're looking for some more obscure groups, how about Greenmantle (???),
Bitter Withy (Tich Frier, Andy Ramage and Lesley Somebody), Dapplegrim
(Billy
Ross pre-Ossian), Tinkler Maidgie (prototype of Kentigern).

No doubt others will come back to me at some point. My memory isn't what it
was
- I shouldn't have thrown out all these old Broadsheets!

Regards,

Ted
