That's a bit dismissive of Tom Clough (1881-1964), who was one of the
most influential figures in 20th century Northumbrian Piping. The top
performer of his day, he also wrote a large number of
tunes/settings/variations, taught many pupils, and was involved in the
development of the modern multi-key chanter. Fortunately for us, many of
his manuscripts survived.
There's an excellent book containing all his music and detailed
historical notes published by the Northumbrian Pipers Society.
