PRESS INFORMATION:

This ten-week season adds over 35 new sessions to existing well
supported regular live music in the Scottish Borders, ensuring 50
weekday night sessions over a ten-week period, plus additional weekend
dates. It involves local musicians, supported by Scottish Enterprise
Borders as part of their 'boost the Borders economy' 50,000 funding
aimed at countering the effects of foot and mouth on tourism.

It has been arranged by JAM Music in the Community, a local charity
which already runs regular workshops and programs with the help of
national funding. The session are typical of the region - fiddle,
guitar, pipes, etc with a mixture of Border, Scottish, Irish and English
music and songs - and visitors who want to join in are welcome. All
sessions are free and the pubs and hotels involved have been chosen
because they are traditional hosts for this kind of informal music, and
also offer visitors suitable facilities.

For further information, call Nick Addington who has co-ordinated the
program as a whole, on 01228 543583. A full program of the events will
be available.

If you would like a photograph emailing from our own photographer,
