Subject: Gay Gordons...?

Hi! I've visited your excellent site in search of some History on the Gay
Gordons couples dance. I found a lot of fascinating information about the
mechanics of the dance & its variations, but my group will be performing
this (in one of its many variations, it seems!) in our upcoming show & I'd
love to know more about the history of the dance. I know the Gordons are a
Scottish Highland clan, & somehow became associated w/ the title "the Gay
Gordons," but don't really have any info beyond that. could you possibly
either enlighten me or direct me to a source that might have the information
I seek? My search engine keeps coming up w/ dance steps, but not history.
Thank you!

Karen Ellery
