> One of my favorite albums is called Schiehallion by a group called North > Sea Gas. No parodies, though. All pretty straight ahead traditional tunes.
Anent North Sea Gas: I've heard them on the radio lately - they have a new fiddler, a young woman, and are definitely worth hearing. A few years ago I would have said they were a group to avoid - bog-standard pub act, nothing distinctive about them. She's livened them up something amazing. They're playing in the village pub here shortly; the manager has started getting regular professional folk acts in, on top of hosting the folk club, the accordion and fiddle club, a Scottish country dance group and occasionally the brass band. =================== <http://www.purr.demon.co.uk/jack/> =================== Posted to Scots-L - The Traditional Scottish Music & Culture List - To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
