This is public domain. It's found in O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland
as "Paddy's Resource"; "Road to Skye" is, I think, the Cape Breton name
for it (quick check in Trad Celtic Violin Music of CB: yes, it's there;
also called "The Rover" in Ireland).

> The Shetland Fiddler (reel)

According to Jerry Holland, Altan credit Derry fiddler Dermot
McLaughlin as the source, but the title suggests he got it from
elsewhere. Aly Bain played a set of "The Hawk" by James Hill going into
a Shetland version of "The Hawk", and I'd bet that that was the
original source.

> The melody for Jock o Hazeldean

The melody is very old, appearing in the Leyden manuscript (late 17th
century) as "The Bony Brow" (ref. Popular Songs and Melodies of
Scotland, G Farquhar Graham, 1893).

> Cathkin Braes (schottische)

No attribution in Kerr's Merry Melodies Bk 3.

> The Sidlaw Hills (schottische)

Jim Watson. I have it in a book of tunes played by Ian Powrie.

> Gordon's Favourite (Shetland reel)

Ronnie Cooper. (I think it's in Da Mirrie Dancers, one of Tom
Anderson's books.

> The Cookie Shine (reel)

It's in Kerr's Merry Melodies Bk 3, with no attribution.

> The 79ths Farewell to Gibraltar (4/4 pipe march)

Most books give no attribution, but I see that Jack has provided the
composer.

> Birsay Beach (jig)

Don't know it.

> Fr Eugene's Welcome to Cape North (2/4 march)

Mike MacDougall, the late CB fiddler, who also composed the popular
"Memories of Father Angus MacDonnell". When I was seeking permission to
reprint that tune I contacted Paul Cranford, who contacted Mike's widow
Peggy.
