Having listened to the Holyrood-Jubilee-Special "Take the Floor" tonight, which I thought was about the most dismal edition of the program I've ever heard (mainly because tunes written for recent members of the Royal Family are all mechanical, uninspired rubbish, and this program included as many of them as possible) I found my mind wandering towards a sort of dance that would *never* feature on such a programme...
Think we could come up with a choreographic representation of Diana's car smash? Basic ingredients: like a contra or Flying Scotsman. Two lines of fairly static dancers representing the concrete pillars at each side of the motorway. Two couples move along between them as a unit, representing the occupants of Diana's car. Pursued by an indefinite number of couples representing motorcyclists with a pillion photo- grapher. Moves should present the highest possible risk of crashing into one side or the other, at which point the lines reorganize and another "car" takes off, followed by another assortment of "paparazzi". Anyone care to flesh this out? Think we can get it into an RSCDS book? =================== <http://www.purr.demon.co.uk/jack/> =================== Posted to Scots-L - The Traditional Scottish Music & Culture List - To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
