1. Reinstall QuickTime - early versions of QT 5 are no good, up to 4.0.3 is okay and so is 6 - and make sure the musical instruments are installed. 2. Give the program 4Mb of memory (comes set up for 2Mb, which sometimes isn't enough). 3. Run it in Classic, not native X, and install the Tune Daemon anyway (it does some X-specific wizardry). 4. (This is possibly where you're going wrong) go to the Play menu, Add an Instrument... and select something. You have to tell the program what sound to use: the boring "Beep" is the default. Instruments are added one at a time by the user; there are so many of them it isn't reasonable for the interface to show you the lot. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jack Campin: 11 Third Street, Newtongrange, Midlothian EH22 4PU; 0131 6604760 <http://www.purr.demon.co.uk/jack> * food intolerance data & recipes, Mac logic fonts, Scots traditional music files, and my CD-ROM "Embro, Embro".
