I would say that interest is pretty strong. The Celtic 
Connections festival in January is absolutely enormous.  
I was fortunate enough to attend Alisdair Fraser's 
Fiddle School during it this year.

Events like Edinburgh Fiddle Festival and Blazin' in
Beauly are also continuing to expand, as are organiations
like the Glasgow Fiddle workshop.

Well, I'm a bit older (early fifties) and I'm now
semi-retired and spending most of my time in Spain, but
I'm still back in Scotland pretty regularly and I try
to attend as many traditional music events as I can.
