It's not in Gore because it's a pipe tune. Where have you read about "The High Reel"? There seems little doubt on the evidence:

Thanks Nigel! That's so often the explanation when I can't find a tune in Gore. I don't have very many pipe books, but I should have thought to check the pipe indexes on line. It worked out for the better though because now you've sent an ABC of it and I don't have to go bother my friends with the pipe books! The last place I read about it was on one of Grey Larsen's CDs, but he didn't list any source for Sandy Duff.
