Hallo!
     We participated in a wonderful Robbie Burns Night celebration 
in Muir Beach, California.  There was a host/emcee in period 
costume, a piper, two Highland dancers, a harper, and a fiddler (me).
     The piper started the program, then we all took turns performing for the 
diners.  Because we have performed together in the past, we were able to use an 
eye-tag system to know when to start and stop our particular contributions. The 
dancers talked about the dances they were about to perform, then danced on 
opposite sides of the room as the piper or our harp/fiddle duo played the music. The 
emcee recited "Ode to a Haggis," and the haggis was duly paraded around the room and 
toasted. After the dinner dishes were cleared, more of Robbie Burns' poetry was 
recited, the gents and the ladies were toasted, and the piper played "Scotland the 
Brave" while everyone in the room sang to the rousing rendition.  
     Our Robbie Burns Night was held on Saturday night, and the early date did not at 
all detract from the festivity.
