Has anyone connected to the internet with NTLs cable modem ?
With NTL I currently have the telephone, digital TV and a second
phone line for my free internet access. NTL are increasing their
prices which means for me, it would be cheaper to move to their
cable modem service and drop the second phone line. Their cable modem
works with linux but not supported which is fine by me.
Details of approx prices/month are:

basic digital pkg + second phone line:
current cost = £15
new cost = $21.50

move to triple digital customer with phone service/digital tv and:

1. 64k cable modem = £20
2. 512k cable modem = £25 rental
3. 512 k cable modem = £22 rental if buy modem for £150

install is £25

I do not use the net so much that I would consider paying the
typical £40/month for a broadband connection but would def consider
this package if it is a good service.
