Hi,
Just to let you know the outcome of my spending spree.
1 Sound Blaster live sound card+drive.
Sound quality is very good, set up was a doddle, su, sndconfig, enter,
enter, enter and it was all set up so i would recommend that to anybody.
Matrox G450, 32mb, dual head. Umm, well it fixed the problem with the
console freaking out every time I booted up, but for some reason dual heads
arent working as planned, However thats because I have X-33 rather than X-4.
Frame Grabber, livevideo thingy, seems to work quite well, havent been able
to use full screen yet, because i didnt have QT installed and couldnt get a
decent viewer but the card is quite impressive, after a little fiddling and
much googling, I now have remote control for the computer which is handy.
PCMCIA network card, um, no comment, doesnt work under windows yet because
for some reason windows wont just accept its a pc card and use a generic
driver but instead wants a 3rd party driver, and unfortunaly the lack of
floppy/cdrom since the coffee incident is causing problems but for a change
it works fine under linux.
so thumbs up to Matrox g450, Sb lives, and LiveVideo cards, and bemused look
at the network card.
See you at the meeting.
David
