My favourite books are:

PHP Fast and Easy web development, Julie C Meloni. Very fast and easy!

Beginning PHP4 by Wrox Press. Good examples and thorough.

I don't recommend PHP4 Bible.

devshed.com is good for tutorials.

Good luck

Subject: [scottish] which php book?

I have recently go into PHP which I have used with mysql in the company
intranet I set up.
The book I have is Essential PHP but does not go into a lot of detail. I
am a systems admin/dba
and do not get much chance to code but when I was doing some PHP stuff I
remembered how much I loved programming. So what's the best book for
someone who does not have a lot
of time to spend on PHP? Should I go for the cook book that actually
tells you how to get specific
things done or go for the "beginning php4 programming" which will take
me through some complete development examples?
