I too use a Sony Vaio (PCG-F309) with Suse 7.0.  No problems so far other
than initial set-up of the sound card (helped out by Suse helpline-now works
fine) and the ubiquitous Winmodem (curse their oily hides)... I changed it
for a 3Com Megahertz 10/100 LAN+56K card (model no.3CCFEM556 B).  This is
the bizniss IMHO for the Vaio.  I also dual boot (for my sins) with Win98
since Turbo-Cad will not work under Linux for me....yet....
