Well, there are several ways to deal with this.
We have a cheap/old PC with a Cyclades multiport serial card.
The Cyclades takes in RJ45 serial leads, for something lile 16
ports.
Just telnet/SSH to the PC, then run minicom/seyon to your chosen
port.
Or a cheaper setup, just use the one serial port on the PC!
Look into Raritan KVM switches - they have a line which allows
display and keyboard/mouse over IP.
I think Black Box do this also.
You may need to have low-level access to the machine at boot time,
and to get into the BIOS. Then it would be well worth looking
at the Weasel board http://www.realweasel.com
It is a card which functions as a graphics adapter to the PC,
but outputs the display to a serial terminal.
