Chris, It's almost always due to sendmail trying to (unsuccessfully) resolve the name for IP interfaces on the system that don't have valid in-addr.arpa maps in the DNS. Fixing the DNS, or /etc/hosts, always fixes the problem for me

Is this supposed to take a long time or is it looking for something that isn't there or something which I can fix? (it is an old P166 but everything else chuggs along happily at boot). Thanks in advance, Chris -------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.lug.org.uk http://www.linuxportal.co.uk http://www.linuxjob.co.uk http://www.linuxshop.co.uk -------------------------------------------------------------------- ________________________________________________________________________ Scottish Enterprise Network http://www.scottish-enterprise.com 150 Broomielaw 5 Atlantic Quay Glasgow G2 8LU.
