just tossing in my 10p's worth. I don't use ISDN but I have, once you get it up and running it's a network interface much like any other. I personally run a linux box as a router/server for my cable modem. I have some very nice anti-ddoss iptables rules and a little bit NAT to allow my other machines to connect. It happily runs Apache, and other services - not all running on the linux machine, that's what -DNAT and port forwarding are for. My net project, is to dispose of the need for NAT on ipv6 routes. I have already gor a single IPv6 tunnel up and running, but did you know you can get a /64 for free? That'll let me have 18 billion ipv6 addresses for my house : well, all the books say that you should add a reasonable amount of redundancy to your network ;-)
If anyone has any expertise in ipv6 or would like to ask about why I'm playing with it or what it cat do for them, drop me an email on this address. Regards, Ian PS Yeah, we can add our own RDNS on the ipv6 ;-) ________________________________________________________________________ Scottish Enterprise Network http://www.scottish-enterprise.com Headquarters Address & Contact Numbers 150 Broomielaw 5 Atlantic Quay Glasgow G2 8LU.
