Ooh, excellent idea for a talk, that. I'm involved in Worldforge (
http://www.worldforge.org ), and we've been stretching the abilities of CVS to
the absolute limits.

Well, I'm atrocious at public speaking so I'll probably wait until the pub,
but anyone interested in joining the FSF-UK, which will be called the AFF (I
forget what the stands for) and forming over the next few months. Membership
is currently estimated at 10, possibly less for students and the unemployed.

It's all possiblies and maybes right now, but things should solidify over the
next few months. I'll keep you all updated as things progress, but right now
I'd like to canvas opinion, get an idea of how many people might be interested
in joining.

Also, is there anyone with contacts in the Scottish media or political
establishment? That sort of thing will be invaluable once we get going, and
anyone with media contacts especially who's interested in helping out should
talk to me (I'm spottable by my extremely faded green hair).

I'll maybe look into either giving a talk or inviting up someone more sneior
to do so when details have been settled.
