I don't have a WAP device, but I do use Slashdot on my Palm Pilot. I use this site: http://www.custard.org/~richard/avantslash/ which has a program which strips superfluous formatting and makes it easy to use on a device with limited I/O. Perhaps this might be of use on a phone too?
