initrd.img is an image of a ramdisk which is loaded at boot time. IIRC, it's the initial filesystem the kernel operates in before switching to the 'real' filesystem, and can actually be empty - more commonly it contains the modules required to access the real filesystem and/or carry out the install etc. The initrd.img will be on the RH supplementary disk - see your RH documentation for where to find it (probably in the same place as netboot.img). If you want to know more about initrd images see 'man mkinitrd' and your lilo and kernel docs. Hopefully it should just be a matter if plugging in the right disk.
