I know a lot of people have used external US Robotics modems (the internal ones don't work). There are _some_ internal ISA ones that work, but not all. Best bet is probably external.
The cheapest one I've seen is from http://www.ebuyer.com and comes in at 15.99+VAT and delivery (for an external modem!) but I've not heard of anyone who's tried it with Linux.
