Dear All I have an opportunity for a Linux Systems Administrator based in Stirling - I'm posting this to the list before I go elsewhere. You would be expected to :
* look after a network of around 40 SuSE Linux and 10 Sun Solaris servers in a mission critical 24x7 environment. * Help support the UKs largest mission critical Linux based Oracle databases. * Support a Samba network for 1,000 users. * Assist in maintaining and developing a wide area network covering 30 locations and using TCP/IP, leased line, ISDN, Frame Relay and microwave links. * Develop, implement and test disaster recovery plans for these systems. The post is vacant now and needs to be filled quickly. You will need to be able to administer Linux systems and know the basics of TCP/IP networking and routing, though training will be given where necessary in areas such as Oracle and the more unusual protocols etc. If you feel up to the challenge and are confident you could demonstrate your skills in a practical interview, please contact me on 07941 397284.
