I've found the best and most cost effective way in the long term to get
repairs done on HP printers (and as great as they are, they will need
repaired at some point if they get any serious usage at all) is to take out
Support Packs on them - most suppliers of HP kit should provide this as a
purchase option when you buy an HP printer. It's usually about 150-300 quid
per printer for 3 years cover, it depends on where it sits in the ranges -
A4 b/w inkjet <= A3 laser <= A0 plotter obviously :)  I'm unsure if you can
buy them post-purchase - might want to check with either a supplier and/or
HP themselves.

Basically if there's an issue with a printer, you just call HP Support,
quote the support pack number, and you should get an engineer same or next
day (they may be from HP, but more than likely an authorised engineer - the
callout company will vary depending on the type of kit), and you pay nothing
for the callout, the labour or the parts. Support Packs can usually be
renewed year on year once they expire, but it depends on the age of the
kit - ISTR some end of life kit being refused renewal on their packs due to
the age, tho I could be wrong :)
