If you are not likely to be in a broadband area for some time you may want to consider ISDN. Depends what you need but there are now 128K unmetered packages around for ~�30 p.m. and I picked up a router of ebay for �25 recently (DSL and cable roll out ensures that ISDN kit is cheap).
