AFAIK all routers fitted by a BT engineer are the same, whether your Demon, Pipex, BT OpenWorld etc. And then when you enter a username and password it authenticates you against the RADIUS server of the ISP you subscribed to. Following that your ISP provide IP config and BT route your connection to that ISPs network connection. Now I believe these routers are set up differently for NAT and non-NAT services. So changing that kind of stuff could be difficult without the management password. BT didn't have this for one of the routers *they* fitted so had to come out and swap it. At a guess though there will be a button somewhere (inside?) to reset this.
