Phil

IMAP stores the emails on the remote server and allows you to download only
the headers of the mails, which should enable you to pick and choose what
messages to download in full.

I will investigate IMAP, not something I am altogether familiar with. But
what benefit would that have to me?  

I checked and I can use IMAP
