Good morning sluggers,

I have an annoying problem here. I upgrade my distro, which in turn has upgraded xfree86 version 4.3 to x.org version 6.7.0. Now when I get the the graphical logon screen, I have no mouse cursor, just a square "blob" of graphic to tell me where my mouse cursor is.

Does anyone know where the graphical image files for the mouse pointer are stored for x.org?

this sounds like you might want "sw_cursor on" in the config

Kenny

Cheers for that Kenny. Unfortunately it did not quite come off as the error log started "option not used" or something similar. What I actually needed was

    Option "HWCursor" "0"

which switches off the hardware cursor, rather than switching on the software cursor (nice double negative logic here ;)

Thanks for your help

Iain
