It has been a bit quiet - I am just an observer so far, but I think the upcoming meetings sound really worthwhile. I shall endeavour to attend these. I know it's weak, but last time I was turned off by the rain.

The list is reasonably quiet, and the meetings have been maybe less well
attended than they once were, but we are still seeing a number of new
people come, and we have had a really good selection of talks this yeah
(IMHO).

The increase of use of IRC has certainly had an impact on the list, but
that is not to say that the list is not serving a purpose.

I think, perhaps, that what is happening is that we are seeing a decrease
of new people to the list, and perhaps less need for questions to be
answered via this medium, meaning that much of what is done here is to
share announcements to the wider audience.

I would be interested to hear other peoples view on the mailing list, and
on the meetings themselves (for those that attend), and on reasons (other
than geographical) that others have for not attending.

Subject: [Scottish] Usb proxy + list traffic

Hi all,

Its a bit quiet on this list lately is it not? Everyone seems to have

moved

to edlug.

Just a wee question:

How could I setup a box to act as a kind of proxy for a usb connection?

I.E. Windows box with usb cable to linux box. Usb cable from linux box to
usb device. And the linux box just passes everything it sees on one port

to

the other, thus being transparent to the windows box and the usb device,

so

the windows box/usb device interact as normal, but the connection is

going

via the linux box.

TIA, craig
