I'm going to the Blender conf & seminar in Amsterdam next month, 22 - 24th
Oct.
Heres the program:

I'd volunteer to do a talk that would feature a report of the conference.
Maybe Nov?

Thanks,
Alan R.

The list is reasonably quiet, and the meetings have been maybe less well
attended than they once were, but we are still seeing a number of new
people come, and we have had a really good selection of talks this yeah
(IMHO).

The increase of use of IRC has certainly had an impact on the list, but
that is not to say that the list is not serving a purpose.

I think, perhaps, that what is happening is that we are seeing a decrease
of new people to the list, and perhaps less need for questions to be
answered via this medium, meaning that much of what is done here is to
share announcements to the wider audience.

I would be interested to hear other peoples view on the mailing list, and
on the meetings themselves (for those that attend), and on reasons (other
than geographical) that others have for not attending.
