I discovered that the problem disappeared after SAMBA was switched off. A posting on the WEB suggested that if SAMBA started first it could cause RPC problems. Can anyone confirm this?
Kevin ________________________________ From: Gallagher, Kevin Sent: 21 October 2005 12:31 To: '[email protected]' Subject: automount problem I have a SUSE Enterprise server from which I export my home directories. I can logon to a redhat linux client and my home directory mounts ok. However if I try to ls /home/<id> on my suse server I am told "/bin/ls: /home/01234567: No such file or directory" . I can mount a share from another machine on my suse server ok. There is something not quite right about the suse machine that I can't figure out. Any advise would be most welcome.
