Hello everyone, My name is Akshay Khatri. I am a Computer Engineering undergraduate from Mumbai University, India. I wish to contribute to scrapy by participating as a student in GSOC 2015. I have a bit of experience of working with python but I am new to the open source world. I have worked on a couple of projects with python and I am quite comfortable with it. I have interned as a Python Web Intern during Winter- 2014.
I am interested in the Support for spiders in other languages project. I think it will add more value to scrapy and will be a interesting feature to work on. It would be great if somebody could help me to get started. Apart from this, I would like to suggest a project idea which involves ways to solve or avoid captchas, as captcha acts as a barrier to data scraping. Please let me know if this could work out as a GSOC Project.
