Hello all! My name is Marcin, I am studying Computer Science at the University of Brighton (in the UK). I am interested in participating in Google Summer of Code 2017 with your organisation. I am a web security and anonymity enthusiast, tried to work with the Tor Project for GSoC 2016 but it did not work out.
I am mostly interested in back end web development but have some small background in Python and web crawling. My main interest in that field was in the Tor Network and web crawling and security: https://github.com/marncz/http-response-hash Tried to create a tool for fingerprinting Tor hidden services based on the request headers returned. https://github.com/marncz/torcrawler Tiny web crawler for getting Tor's hidden services Please keep in mind date of these projects as I have have gained some experience since then. I do have experience and working knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS and webpages structure etc. I also have gained experience with Scrapy and web crawling in Python when doing few projects for customers in freelancing projects, cannot bring them up as they were small changes and fixes. I gained some more during my internship and willing to learn more about Python and Scrapy, I would be mostly interested in "New HTTP/1.1 download handler" project or related to web development (Django). Beyond that I have 4 years experience of PHP and related web technologies (JavaScript, HTML etc.).
