Hi,

I am pursuing a Masters in Computer Science and I am reaching out for
guidance on how to proceed in this application process. This is my first
attempt at GSOC.

I understand that the deadline for a Project Proposal is around the corner,
but I am interested in the following projects and would appreciate help in
acquiring the necessary resources:

1) (Portia) : Increase Crawling Performance through Page Clustering
2) (Portia) : Portia Spider Generation
3) (Frontera) : Implement message bus on RabbitMQ

I have 2 years of start-up experience working in Python. I have implemented
RabbitMQ on a large scale distributed system. The projects in Portia are
solving 2 of the pain points that I have encountered while working with
scrapy and had implemented a basic work-around for the Portia Spider
Generation but working alongside scrapy.

A few questions:
- What is the best way to get in contact with the mentors for these
projects, Ruairi Fahy and Alexander Sibiryakov.
- What materials should I have prepared before speaking with these mentors?
- In your opinion, is 1 week sufficient time to complete the process of
contacting an organization, mentor, and completing a proposal?

Please let me know if I may provide further details.

Thank you,

Melvin Mathew
