Greetings.

I have problem using dpkg commands with fakeroot in scratchbox (v. 0.9.8.5).
I'm currently trying to install pymaemo SDK on top of maemo SDK 1.1. I have
installed scratchbox and maemo SDK following instructions from maemo.org
website.

When i execute command "fakeroot dpkg -i *.deb", new row with no text
comes up
and just waits. Computer seems to be doing nothing. I can either interrupt it
myself later or in some time comes "timed out" message and it interrupts
itself. I've also tried to do this for single .deb packages, same thing
happens. I've also tried to create new target (tried both arm and i386)
but it
doesn't help. Creating new target I have compiled it and copied libfakeroot
with proper commands from instructions.

Could something be wrong with installation of scratchbox or in my Linux
distribution (Ubuntu)? Or does this look more like an issue of rights to
execute something? I did notice that version of libfakeroot was different
from
example in maemo.org website and the folder also was changed to
/libfakeroot in
this newer version. Should this cause problems with my targets?

There is plenty of questions but I hope you can answer to help me solve this
problem. In our project we're eager to try python with Nokia 770, using
scratchbox!

I have also compiled fakeroot myself with instructions from
scratchbox.org/documentation, but it doesn't help. I have debugged fakeroot
with faked-tcp --debug --foreground to get port numbers 32794:22809. I did
this outside scratchbox, inside scratchbox I got error message when tried to
debug with faked: "please don't try fakeroot as fakeroot" (or something
similar)...

Thank you in advance,
-Toni Laine
