Any timeline for an EABI supporting Scratchbox build? I noted on the
following website that QEMU 0.8.1 has shown some progress:

QEMU 0.8.1 can run ARM EABI systems, though when running with the
2.6.16 kernel it is mindbogglingly slow on x86 processors of a few
hundred megahertz. Using 2.6.17-rc3 or later fixes this anomaly.

   *

binutils - from 2.16.92 - already in Debian
   *

gcc - gcc 4.1.0 (ARMv4t thumb interworking is missing)
   *

glibc - fully upstream in 2.4. Will also be in 2.3.7
         o

Earlier glibcs (2.3.6?) support EABI userspace but had
old-style syscalls to work with older kernels (2.6.8-2.6.13ish).
   *

kernel - eabi support merged after 2.6.15, present in 2.6.16.
   *

dpkg, apt - patches will be submitted when port name consensus is achieved
