The only time I had problems with this is when I was messing with
screen's terminfo entry.  As far as I can tell, using a recent version
of ncurses, xterm, and screen (all with appropriate terminfo
definitions) everything works fine,
        nikolai (who thinks bitlbee is a lot better than centericq)
