What I meant with ^a:number 1 is:

Hit CTRL+a, then hit : (colon), then type "number 1". This will change
the number of the current window to 1, i.e. move it swapping with
number one.

So if you are in window 3 (irssi) and give that command using window 1
(mutt), irssi will become 1 and mutt 3.
