I used screens all the time to run long jobs on our linux network. I now find myself needing to run long jobs on a windows machine that is connected to a network and running a virtual box (restrictions on allowing linux on the system forced us into this configuration). Will a screen continue to run if we close the virtual machine and the user logs out of the network? I am trying to find a way for jobs to continue running overnight when the computer wants to go to sleep and log out the user.
