Public bug reported:
Just upgraded from 14.04 to 16.04 (Xenial) and the screenlets are gone.
Is there a reason to drop support of newer Ubuntu versions, or did just
no one cared? :D
If screenlets support is ceased, are there any recommendations for
alternatives? I just tried the desktop widget configuration options of
the cairo addings ... but they lack replacements for nearly any
screenlets I used (InfoPanel, Pidgin Contact List, NowPlaying, Output,
Stocks, Lyrics). The only thing I found there as well was a clock. Well
...
If no one knows any alternatives that are nearly as good and feature
rich as the screenlets, can we make the screenlets compatible with newer
Ubuntu versions again?
