I too did that. One must do mkfontsdir mkfontscale then the abiword documentation suggests using their ttmadmin.sh script and this will give the u2g afm and so forth using the ISO-8859-1 If you do NOT do this the fonts will print but will NOT show in Scribus itself The order given above may not be correct. If so one of these commands will truncate the fonts.dir to ZERO! This is all explained in Scribus documentation (under fonts) also get hold of Abi Word which has good information on all of this mess. There must be a better way. By the way, if you use ALL your Windows ttf fonts your display may take over the WHOLE space!!
