I have got libxml2-2.5.7 OK by not using www.gnu.org but confining myself to the official www.suse.com list. They have libxml and libxml-devel in BOTH Gnome and KDE lists and these are inconsistent! Now I work on another library lrdf and this one is a tar ball so I may be back to square one on this one. How do I manage PKG_CONFIG_PATH?
