Scribus 1.1.2 - The Halloween Release The latest devel release has the following:
- The "Big Merge" from Paul Johnson. This is a merge of optimizing patches for improved performance (they work!) and adherence to stricter, more modern C++ coding practices. Hence, Scribus 1.1.2+ will not compile on any version of GCC older than 3.0. GCC 3.2+ is highly recommended. The Scribus Team decided the performance gains and cleaner code made it necessary to drop supporting 2.95.x compilers. - The Python Scripting Plug-in is now included in the main application. - Many improvements to text handling including much easier to use automatic text frames. - The Scribus Team is now four: Craig Bradney has joined up and is getting his feet wet with the code, helping on the mailing list and pestering Franz and Paul with good suggestions. Have Fun, Franz Schmid
