Tonight I tried to upgrade to Scribus 1.2 via RPM. (I'm running FC1.) When I did rpm -Uvh scribus*.rpm it said that shared-mime-info was required. I looked in the downloads section of scriubs.net, but didn't see a package for that, so I found a rpm (shared-mime-info-0.14-1.i386.rpm), installed it and then successfully installed the scribus rpm.
After working with scribus for awhile, it crashed. Here is the output: Could not find platform independent libraries <prefix> Could not find platform dependent libraries <exec_prefix> Consider setting $PYTHONHOME to <prefix>[:<exec_prefix>] 'import site' failed; use -v for traceback [1]+ Exit 255 scribus It is possible that I picked an rpm for the shared-mime-info that was not correct for FC1. Would that cause the crash? If so, how should I correct the problem? Thanks! Andrew Morrison
