xpdf 3.00 cannot display PDF 1.4 transparency properly, only Acro 5+ (any platform) See: http://docs.scribus.net/index.php?lang=en&sm=exportingtopdf&page=pdfexport1 The last section: <snip> "One of the challenges with PDF and EPS viewers on Linux, is that Scribus creates high end PS level 3 and PDF 1.4, with capabilities beyond most of the open source viewers.
