The only thing I can think of at the moment is to make use of folders that will act as suitcases and load them as needed through the Font Manager dialog > Additionnal Paths ... Not perfect as you can understand ... but to a certain extent, manageable ... I think. I didn't "work" enough with Scribus to simulate real life production but I find the Additionnal Path to be helpful.
