When I use yast to search for cups-dev it comes up with libgnome-devel ONLY. For some reason my cds lack the cups-devel. I have now downloaded cups-devel from ftp:SuSE. I'll let you know how reconfigure and compile goes tonight -- your Tuesday midday. Many thanks! -- ml
