BTW: compiling 1.2.2 with Suse 8.2, Kernel 2.4.26 works without
any problems: libjpeg-6.2.0-530 . And I've no libjpeg-devel
installed there!?
I'm running Suse 8.2 since two years and I've installed and
compiled a lot so that nearly all *-devel is installed.
