[Scribus] hidden guides

Hi,

I am using Scribus 1.3.1 on FC4 Linux

Whenever I want to have a non-white background for the page, I draw a
colored box filling the page & send it to the "bottom level"

Now, the box hides all the guides on the page making things difficult for me

(This does not happen in Pagemaker/Windows)

any suggestions/work-arounds?
